The 2024 - 2025 school year was a record-breaking school year for our Lady Vikes and Vikings!
Junior Halle Goodman kicked things off by joining the career assist leaders in volleyball as a junior with 721 assists.
Senior Luke Sternberg set another basketball record, bringing him to four basketball records. He now has the career steals record with 227.
Freshman Clara Pace set the girls basketball record for 14 free throws in a game!
The girls basketball team set the team rebound record for a season at 797!
In wrestling, Senior Henry Lund set a record for being the first Viking to be a 4-time State Qualifier, and he finished 5th at the State Tournament!
Senior Sienna Christian set a new record in girls soccer with 37 saves in a single game!
Our home track meet on April 10 was a record-breaking night, TEN meet recrods were broken, and three of those ten were by our Vikings and Lady Vikes runners!
Senior Luke Sternberg ran the 400m dash in 50.70
Sophomore Bella Lamp ran the 400m hurdles in 1:06.59.
The Lady Vikes 4x400 relay team of freshman Kennedy Wyman, sophomore Macey Goshorn, junior Ava Paulsen, and sophomore Bella Lamp set the meet record at 4:14.74.
The Vikings had a record-breaking track season.
Senior Luke Sternberg broke his own 400m dash record a few times during the season. He broke his record one final time at the state qualifying meet in Griswold, setting it at 49.10.
The Vikings 4x400 team of juniors Collin Harder, Chase Wheatley, Ty Nelson, and senior Luke Sternberg broke the 2010 record of 3:35.03 set by Hunter Nelsen, Julian Riesgaard, Tobias Lund, and Tanner Eichelberger at the state qualifying meet in Griswold with a time of 3:32.93.
Junior Collin Harder broke the 24-year-old record set by Danny O'Neill in the 800m run. O'Neill's record was 1:58.68, Collin set the record at 1:58.21!
The Lady Vikes also had a record-breaking track season.
Sophomore Bella Lamp broke the 400m hurdle record set by Ashley Adams in 2002. Adams' record was 1:04.52, Lamp set the new record at 1:03.9 at the CAM Classic in Atlantic. Two days later, she went to the Drake Relays and broke her record, setting it at 1:03.44!
Lamp also broke Ryann Portch's 2019 record of 59.76 in the 400 with a time of 59.37.
